Help shape the future of a unique heritage attraction.
Kempton Steam Museum is entering an exciting new phase, and we’re looking for a creative, hands-on Marketing Officer to help grow our audiences and raise the profile an extraordinary London museum.
Home to the world’s largest working triple-expansion steam engine, we have ambitious plans to expand our events, education offer and appeal to families and new visitors. This is a brilliant opportunity to shape a role, take real ownership of marketing activity and make a visible impact for a under-recognised historic gem.
The role is offered on a 6-month contract (2 days per week / 16 hours), with a strong intention to extend if successful.
The role
You’ll plan and deliver engaging marketing to promote our steaming days, special events, tours and volunteering opportunities, working closely with Trustees, volunteers and event leads.
This role suits someone who enjoys variety, is happy being hands-on, and wants to help build something rather than maintain the status quo.
Topline responsibilities
- Promote events and activities across social media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok), email, web and paid channels
- Create and schedule engaging content (including photo and video)
- Keep our website and visitor information up to date
- Plan and send email newsletters and event communications
- Support brand consistency, partnerships and volunteer promotion
- Track performance and share insights with Operations Committee and Trustees
Why apply?
- A rare chance to shape and grow a marketing role
- Real ownership and creative freedom
- A supportive, passionate heritage organisation
- Strong intention to extend the role beyond 6 months
Working arrangements:
- Flexible hours with hybrid set up allowing working from home for 50% (note that on site days would be Tuesdays, Thursdays or on weekends)
- Some weekend work will be required to capture event content
