The museum is most easily reached by car using the A316 Great Chertsey Road from London and the M3 motorway from the south-west. The museum situated within Greater London but are outside the London Congestion Charge and the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ). Please read below for more information about the ULEZ. From London using the A316:

Leave the A316 at the exit for Feltham, Lower Feltham. Take the third exit at the roundabout, following the brown signs marked Kempton Steam Museum. Proceed towards a mini roundabout and take the first exit. Take the next left turn into the waterworks site. Proceed straight along this road to the entrance gates. Once through the gates, the road will then lead to the car park.

From the south-west using the M3/A316:

At Sunbury Cross the M3 motorway will become the A316 Great Chertsey Road. Proceed along the A316 and leave at the exit marked Feltham, Lower Feltham. At the roundabout, take the FIRST EXIT onto Snakey Lane and proceed towards a mini roundabout and take the FIRST EXIT. Take the next left turn into the waterworks site. Proceed straight along this road to the entrance gates. Once through the gates, the road will then lead to the car park.

ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) Please Read:

The museum approach roads and car park are OUTSIDE of the London ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone). Please take extra caution if approaching the museum from outside of London if your vehicle is not ULEZ compliant as the museum and approach roads are on the boundary of the ULEZ zone. Ensure you leave the A316 at the exit for Feltham, Lower Feltham as this is the last junction outside of the ULEZ. Only the First Exit at the two roundabouts is outside of the ULEZ.  Follow the above instructions and take the FIRST EXIT at both roundabouts to prevent entering the ULEZ.
